Hearing Care Services
Comprehensive, Concierge-Level Hearing Care in Biddeford, Maine
At Casco Bay Hearing, every service is delivered with the same commitment — thorough, unhurried, and built entirely around you. We are an independent private practice, and every decision made here is guided by one priority — what is best for you.
01 — Comprehensive Hearing Evaluations
Understanding your hearing begins with a thorough evaluation that goes well beyond a simple pass or fail. Our comprehensive evaluations are guided by current clinical standards and include speech-in-noise testing to assess how you hear across both quiet and complex, real-world listening environments. A visual ear canal assessment is included as part of every evaluation. Results are reviewed with you clearly and completely, so you leave with a full picture of your hearing health and what, if anything, it means for your daily life — with no pressure and no assumptions.
02 — Communication Needs Assessments
How you hear in a quiet exam room tells only part of the story. We evaluate your listening experience across the real-world situations that matter most to you — whether that is following a conversation at a busy restaurant, keeping up at work, staying connected with family, or feeling confident in social settings. This deeper understanding shapes every recommendation we make, ensuring your care is built around your actual life rather than test results alone.
03 — Hearing Aid Selection & Fitting with Real Ear Measurement
When hearing technology is the right path forward, we guide you through every step with clarity, honesty, and care. As an independent practice, we work with all major hearing aid manufacturers — including Phonak, Oticon, Starkey, Widex, ReSound, and Signia — meaning our recommendations are based entirely on what is clinically appropriate for your hearing, your lifestyle, and your budget.
Every fitting includes Real Ear Measurement verification as standard — a gold-standard process that measures the actual sound levels reaching your eardrum and ensures your hearing aids are calibrated precisely to your unique ears. Most providers skip this step. At Casco Bay Hearing, it is included at every single fitting, without exception.
04 — Tinnitus Support
That persistent ringing, buzzing, or humming is more common than most people realize — and more manageable than many expect. We offer individualized tinnitus support strategies and hearing technology solutions designed to reduce the impact of tinnitus on your daily life and overall wellbeing. Care is approached thoughtfully, and when appropriate, we provide additional resources and collaborate with other healthcare providers to support the broader picture of your health.
05 — Performance Care for Musicians & Performers
Your hearing is your most important instrument. Musicians and performers have listening demands that go far beyond everyday hearing — nuanced tonal balance, the ability to hear yourself and others with precision, and the need to protect long-term auditory health without compromising sound quality.
We offer hearing care designed specifically around those demands, including hearing preservation strategies, custom and non-custom hearing protection, custom earmolds, and ear impressions for in-ear monitors — whether you are a professional performer, a weekend musician, or someone who simply loves live music and wants to protect their hearing for years to come.
06 — Hearing Protection & Custom Solutions
Protecting the hearing you have is just as important as addressing hearing loss. We offer both custom and non-custom hearing protection solutions for a wide range of needs and lifestyles.

The Phonak Serenity Choice line offers premium ready-to-wear hearing protection designed for specific listening environments, available in universal sizes for a comfortable fit without requiring an ear impression. Options include:

- Serenity Choice Comfort — discreet all-day noise reduction for busy work environments, travel, and focus

- Custom earmolds for hearing aids, in-ear monitors, and communication devices
- Ear impressions for in-ear monitors — for musicians, performers, and audio professionals requiring precision-fit monitoring solutions
07 — Assistive Listening & Everyday Life Solutions
Hearing care at Casco Bay Hearing extends well beyond the clinic. For many patients, the right combination of hearing technology and everyday accessories makes a meaningful difference in the situations that matter most — at home, at work, and everywhere in between.
We provide guidance on assistive listening devices and accessories that integrate naturally into daily life, including:
- Remote microphones — for clearer hearing in noisy restaurants, meetings, and group settings
- TV streamers — for comfortable, direct audio streaming from your television
- CaptionCall phones — a free captioning telephone service that displays real-time captions of phone conversations, making phone calls accessible and comfortable for those with hearing loss
- Bed shaker and vibrating alerting systems — for safety and awareness at home
- Ear Gear — protective covers that slip over hearing aids to guard against moisture, sweat, and everyday wear, extending the life of your devices
- Cleaning kits and maintenance supplies — everything you need to keep your hearing aids performing at their best
- Deaf Meatal Jewelry - stylish, functional jewelry designed to help secure hearing devices comfortably and confidently, combining practicality with personal expression
Every recommendation is made with your specific lifestyle and listening needs in mind — because great hearing care addresses the whole person, not just the ears.
08 — Professional Hearing Aid Maintenance & Redux Drying Service
Moisture is one of the leading causes of hearing aid performance issues and premature device failure — and most patients don't realize how much moisture their hearing aids accumulate daily through sweat, humidity, and environmental exposure.
At Casco Bay Hearing, we use the Redux Pro professional dehumidification system — a patented, clinical grade moisture removal technology trusted by hearing care professionals worldwide. Using a vacuum chamber process, Redux removes 100% of moisture from hearing aids in minutes, safely and without damaging rechargeable batteries. Research shows that 77% of hearing aids improve in performance after a Redux drying cycle, and that moisture is a contributing factor in the majority of hearing aid malfunctions.
Redux drying is available as part of routine maintenance visits and can often resolve performance issues that might otherwise require a repair or manufacturer service — saving time and protecting your investment.
We also perform in-house repairs and maintenance for a wide range of hearing aid makes and models, and have access to manufacturer repair services for more complex issues requiring factory service.
09 — Auditory Training Resources
Hearing aids are a powerful tool — but the brain also plays a critical role in how well we hear. Auditory training programs are designed to help the brain adapt to and make the most of improved sound input, particularly in the weeks and months following a new fitting or for anyone wanting to strengthen their listening skills over time. At Casco Bay Hearing, we provide patients with access to free and fee based auditory training resources to support long-term listening success — because better hearing outcomes require both great technology and an engaged brain.
Care for Patients with Hearing Aids Purchased Elsewhere
You do not need to have purchased your hearing aids from us to receive exceptional care here.
If you are currently wearing hearing aids from another provider — whether a previous clinic, a big box retailer, or an online purchase — we welcome you. Using industry-standard hearing care software, we can access and import your existing hearing aid settings, so your care continues seamlessly from where it left off without starting from scratch, or we can begin with a new audiologic evaluation to start with a new prescription. From there, we can provide adjustments, fine tuning, Real Ear Measurement verification, Redux moisture treatment, in-house repairs, manufacturer repair coordination, and ongoing support for any major brand.
Patients with existing hearing aids may choose fee-for-service care for individual appointments, or purchase a service plan for structured, ongoing support. Whatever you choose, you will receive the same standard of thorough, personalized care as every other patient at Casco Bay Hearing.
Your hearing aids deserve expert care — regardless of where you bought them.
Service & Care Plans
At Casco Bay Hearing, we offer three ways to structure your ongoing care — designed to accommodate different needs, preferences, and lifestyles. We believe patients should pay for the care they actually need — with full transparency about what is included, what it covers, and how long it lasts. Our structured care plans are designed to provide exceptional value and comprehensive support over a defined period, so you always know exactly what your investment covers and can make decisions with confidence.
Fee for Service
Pay for individual services as needed, with transparent pricing discussed at the time of scheduling. This option is ideal for patients with hearing aids purchased elsewhere who prefer flexible support, for patients who spend part of the year out of state, or for those who simply prefer an à la carte approach. All services are available individually, and no ongoing commitment is required.

The Value of Independent Private Practice Care
When it comes to hearing care, where you go matters as much as what you get.
At Casco Bay Hearing, we operate as a fully independent private practice — which means the care you receive here is shaped entirely by your needs, your hearing, and your life. Our schedule, our services, and our standards are set by one priority — your hearing health.
We work with all major hearing aid manufacturers — Phonak, Oticon, Starkey, Widex, ReSound, Unitron and Signia — and our clinical knowledge of each allows us to match the right technology to the right patient based on what your evaluation and consultation reveal. Appointments are never rushed. Follow-up care is never a formality. And whether you choose our most advanced technology level or our most accessible one, the clinical standard of care you receive is exactly the same.
We also believe that hearing care is not a product — it is an ongoing relationship. From the moment you walk through our door through years of continued support, our goal is to be a trusted partner in your hearing health for the long term. To serve that goal, we offer extended hours beyond typical clinic schedules, making quality hearing care accessible to working individuals, busy families, and anyone whose life doesn't fit neatly into a 9-to-5 appointment window.
That is what independent care looks like. And it is what every patient here deserves.
